After 30 years, the belt tensioner on the front of your 12-valve will be getting tired. The spring in the assembly that keeps correct tension on your belt, will start to fatigue allowing your belt to not have as much tension and therefore allow the belt to start slipping. As it continues to wear, you will start getting vibrations from it and can eventually cause belt failure and other damage.
We have tested many of the aftermarket brands of belt tensioners and have experienced failures with every single one that we have tested. When it comes to a belt tensioner, you get what you pay for. As such, the only belt tensioner we offer is the genuine Cummins belt tensioner, which like your original one will last another 30 years.
This will fit 1989 through 2002 12- and 24-valve engines.
