Tired of cheap aftermarket carpet? We have you covered!
When our beloved 1st Gens were new, the factory used a rubber backed molded carpet with insulation matting to help keep the sound and heat under control in the cab.
Most companies that are offering carpet for our trucks, offer carpet that is much like household carpet – there is no insulation or rubber backing. It is just the carpet fibers but due to this, the carpet is very cheap to make. While it works, it doesn’t help keep the sound of our Cummins engines outside, nor does it help block the heat. This is why so many owners with fully restored trucks complain about needing more sound deadener. It isn’t correct carpet.
Just like the dealer replacements, our carpet is true to factory. It is fully molded and insulation backed.
There are two types of regular cab carpets: Small Hump and Big Hump.
Small hump carpet refers to the transmission tunnel size. 2wd trucks with automatics, had small hump tunnels. 2wd trucks with manual transmissions MOST times had large humps.
Large humps were found on 4wd trucks regardless of transmission.
Please make sure you order the correct hump style as the carpets don’t interchange. For a visual reference, please see the photos.
Due to the amount of driveline swaps in 1st Gens, there are no holes in this carpet for 4wd or tranny shifters. This ensures you can cut the holes where you need them.
